COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
JACK, BUMPER (Hydraulic)
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this
Commercial Item Description in lieu of Federal Specification GGG-J-63.
This commercial item description covers one type of hydraulic bumper jack which has been assigned National Stock Number 5120-00-293-0552.
Salient characteristics:
Design. The jack shall be similar to the illustration herein and consist of a Hydraulic lifting unit with an operating lever and an attachment which fits over the lifting plunger of the hydraulic unit. The attachment shall have a chain and hook or other type mechanical device for attaching to a bumper. The hook which attaches to a bumper. The hook which attaches to the bumper shall be no higher than 6 inches from the base of the hydraulic unit in its lowest position, and adjustable to a height not less than 12 inches.
Rise. The hydraulic rise of the jack shall be not less than 17 inches.
Capacity. The rated capacity of the jack shall be not less than 1-1/2 tons.

Certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this commercial item description and that the product conforms to the producer’s own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices and is the same product offered for sale in the commercial marketplace. The government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
Recovered materials. The manufacturer shall utilize recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable.
Preservation, packaging, packing and marking. Each jack shall be preserved and packaged in accordance with normal commercial practice and packed to assure acceptance by common carrier and provide product protection against loss and damage during multiple shipments, handling, and storage. The shipping container shall be in compliance with the National Motor Freight Classification and Uniform Freight Classification. Marking shall be as specified in the contract or order.
