Drive tang shall not be made of powdered metal. Wrenches of a capacity greater than that specified are not acceptable. Instructions shall include procedures for maintenance and recalibration of the torque wrenches.
Marking. Each torque wrench shall be marked in a plain and permanent manner with month and year of manufacture (e.g., 12/85 for December 1985), manufacturers name or identifying symbol, part number, and country of origin.
Quality assurance provisions.
Inspection. Sampling for inspection shall be in accordance with M1L-sTD-105, Sampling Procedures and Tables for Inspection by Attributes, except where otherwise specified. The lot size shall consist of all torque wrenches offered for acceptance at one time. The sample unit is one torque wrench.
Examination for visual and operating load requirements. Each torque wrench shall be examined for workmanship, marking and operating load requirements. The inspection level shall be Level 11 with an acceptable quality level (AQL) of 2.5 defects per hundred units.
Testing for conformance. Each torque wrench shall be tested for conformance in accordance with criteria set forth in applicable portions of paragraphs 4.1 through 4.16 of ANSI B107.14M with an inspection level of S-2 with an AQL of 2.5 defects per hundred units.
Regulatory requirements. In accordance with the section 23.403 of the Federal
Acquisition Regulations, the Government’s policy is to acquire items composed of the highest percentage of recovered materials practicable, consistent with maintaining a satisfactory level of competition without adversely affecting performance requirements or exposing suppliers ‘ employees to undue hazards from the recovered materials.
Preservation, packaging, packing, labeling and marking. The preservation, packaging, packing, labeling, and marking shall be as specified in the contract or order. (For use by GSA; optional for other agencies.). DoD may use Commercial Packaging, Standard ASTM D3951.
NOTE:
The issue of the referenced documents in effect on the date of the solicitation shall be used to determine compliance with stated requirements.
