COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
CLAMP, SCREW, QUICK-ADJUSTING, SLIDING HEAD
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this
Commercial Item Description in preference to Type III, Class B of Federal
Specification GGG-C-406.
Salient characteristics:
Bar: 1 in. x 5/16 in. (minimum); round-edge carbon spring steel, without notches or other deformity.
Sliding head: Easily movable, with suitable looking device at any point. Designed to receive bar and screw.
Screw: Steel, threads smoothly cut and designes for load intended.
Swivel: Steel or malleable iron, securely fastened, revolves freely.
Fixed Jaw: The fixed jaw shall be securely attached tp one end of the bar.
Handle: Wing-nut or sliding pin type.
Load limit: Normal load limit, 1800 lbs., (minimum).
