Quality assurance provisions. Sampling for inspection and testing. Sampling shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-1B5, Sampling Procedures, and Tables for Inspection by Attributes. The lot size shall consist of all wrenches offered for acceptance at one time. The sample unit is one wrench.
A. Visual examination. The inspection level shall be S-4 with an acceptable quality level (AQL) of 4.0 percent defective.
B. Dimensional examination. The inspection level shall be S-3 with an acceptable quality level (AQL) of 4.0 percent defective.
C. Testing for hardness. The inspection level shall be S-3 with an AQL of 4.0 percent defective. Testing shall be performed in accordance with ASTM E18.
D. Torsion test load. Wrenches shall withstand the test loads specified in applicable table herein without failure or permanent deformation which might affect the durability and serviceability of the wrenches. The inspection level shall be S-3 with an AQL of 4.0 percent defective.
E. Surface coating adhesion test. The wrenches shall be examined for surface adhesion as specified in paragraph 9, Heat Quench Test, Of ASTM 6571-8.4, Standard Test Methods for Adhesion of Metallic Coatings. The inspection level shall be S-3 with an AQL of 1.5 percent defective.
F. Examination for preparation for delivery. The sample unit shall be one shipping container fully prepared for delivery. The lot shall be the number of containers in the inspection lot. Inspection level shall be s-2 with an AQL of 2.5 expressed in terms of defects per hundred units.
Regulatory requirements. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials in accordance with Public Law 94-580, as amended, to the maximum extent practicable.
Preservation, packaging, packing, labeling, and marking. The preservation, packaging, packing, labeling, and marking shall be as specified in the contract or order (For use by GSA; optional for other agencies.) DoD may use Commercial Packaging Standard ASTM D3951.
