COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION SCRIBER, DIAMOND POINT
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description for all federal agencies.
1. SCOPE
1.1 Scope. This commercial item description covers diamond marking pencils for inscribing glass surfaces.
2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS
2.1 Design and construction. The diamond point scriber shall be the manufacturer's standard commercial product similar to the scriber shown in figure 1. The pencil-type scriber shall have a grade AA natural diamond mounted in a steel or brass nib. The diamond shall be bonded to the nib and coned to an included angle of 105 degrees + one degree. The diamond shall weigh not less
than 2 points before coning.
